Raw Energy: 124 Raw Food Recipes for Energy Bars, Smoothies, and Other Snacks to Supercharge Your Body

The ‘Raw Energy’ snack cookbook by Stephanie Tourles, a holistic esthetician, offers fantastic and healthy, raw snack recipes. But not only are they super nutritious, they also taste delicious. The 125 recipes in this book range from making your own, low-sugar energy bars, energizing smoothies, wholesome soups, trail mixes for lunchboxes, and even candies and scrumptious cookies.

All the ingredients used are of high quality – no processed food to be seen – and give you a natural energy boost due to the many vitamins, minerals and fibers naturally occurring in the products. You won’t find refined white flour in any of the recipes, but instead you use lots of dried and fresh fruit, oats, vegetables and nuts.

I like the fact that the book not only includes recipes, but the author also talks about the benefits of raw cooking to your body and health, and gives lots of advice and information on raw cooking (uncooked) techniques.

All in all, I like the sound of Second-Wind Hazelnut Bites, Zesty Zuccini Chips, Papaya Sunset Soup, Tahini Tango Dip, Dynamite Trail Mix or how about the Green Go-Go Gladiator Shake? There is a great mix of delicious and wholesome snack ideas in this wonderfully written book. I would certainly recommend it.
