The Guy’s Guide to Surviving Pregnancy, Childbirth and the First Year of Fatherhood

You will love and cry throughout this book – it is a funny, witty, but also down-to-earth and honest account of a man’s journey from finding out that his wife is expecting their first child, the ups and down of pregnancy, the first milestones of the new baby to the end of the first year of fatherhood.

The book doesn’t cover research-based facts about pregnancy etc. it is, essentially, a bloke’s diary of his emotional responses to the news of his partner’s unplanned pregnancy. It is written in a funny way with sometimes sarcastic humor. You need a sense of humor to be able to enjoy this book. It prepares the father-to-be for his biggest adventure yet, with many funny anecdotes that might help to take away the “fear” of expecting.

Overall, don’t buy this book if you are looking for a serious pregnancy book, but if you are looking for a light-hearted read on surviving pregnancy, birth, etc for a new father, then this book is a fantastic read. It is the hilarious account of a guy’s unexpected journey through the ups and down of pregnancy and beyond. It would also make a good read for first time moms in order to understand what a lot of fathers-to-be go through emotionally.
